Faced with rising costs in Miami, 60-year-old Julie Balzano sold her home and relocated to Colombia.
Unable to keep up with the escalating property prices in the US, she chose to move to the South American country, lured by the affordable cost of living.
Through selling, gifting, and donating her possessions, she now lives a simplified life in a three-bedroom apartment in one of Medellin’s “coolest neighborhoods.”
She launched a business, started a Facebook group for expats, and enjoys a more active social life while maintaining a focus on the positive aspects of her decision.
My Take…
All age groups are finding the lure of Colombia attractive.
It’s a fantastic retirement destination and should be on most future retirees list.
