International Living’s 2024 Annual Global Retirement Index crowned Costa Rica as the top retirement destination. Based on a comprehensive survey of life, the index considered factors like living and housing cost, climate, availability of visas, and healthcare provision.
Costa Rica’s “pura vida vibe,” fantastic climate, and dual public and private healthcare systems available to residents pushed it to the top.
Other high-ranking retirement destinations included Portugal, Mexico, Panama, and Spain. The full index is available on International Living’s website.
My Take…
I personally think the planet has a lot of retirement destinations better than Costa Rica.
That said, what works for me, will not necessary work for someone else.
