Japan, Singapore, France Lead Passport Index

Retiring abroad news from Retirement Utopia

The 2024 Henley Passport Index ranks Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain’s passports as the most powerful, based on visa-free entry to 194 countries.

On the other hand, the U.S., which allows visa-free access to 188 countries, ranked seventh, fluctuating between the sixth and eighth spots over the last few years.

The U.S. saw a record 24 million passports issued between October 2022 and September 2023, testifying to its robust demand for foreign travel.

The United Arab Emirates has significantly improved its ranking over a decade, ascending 44 places to the 11th spot.

My Take…

Fortunately my UK passport is not far behind, ranked 4th.
I’m surprised how European country passports can have very different rankings.
