According to immigration consultancy “Ei! Assessoria Migratória”, interest among Americans in Portugal’s D7 Visa rose fourfold in November. Surges were recorded the day before the US elections.
Almost 90% of inquiries were about the visa, which is often sought after by retirees and those with steady incomes.
Following Trump’s victory, searches by American internet users for EU migration opportunities increased 1514%.
Portugal ranked high among sought-after destinations, together with Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Not a huge surprise, people often imagine the worst outcome.
If you are leaving the USA, a modern first world country due to a Government change, then in my opinion, you are going to have trouble surviving in Portugal. LOL!
