Germany has introduced a new digital platform to streamline its visa application process.
Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock described the system as “a real administrative revolution.”
The portal, which features 28 categories of national visas, is an attempt to reduce shortages in skilled workers, thought to be around 400,000 annually.
The platform is available to all of Germany’s 167 visa offices worldwide.
My Take…
Slowly, more and more countries are implementing electronic visa processing, which is a big step forward in my opinion. Nothing is worse than waiting weeks or months for stamps, approvals etc.
