After years in Britain, Wendy and Marshall Bailey decided to retire to Marrakesh, drawn by its culture, food, and architecture.
They fell for the city’s medina quarter, filled with traditional homes and palaces, known as riads.
On a 2022 visit, they began considering Marrakesh as a retirement destination and consulted an estate agent to understand property buying procedures. Aiming to buy a riad that could serve as an Airbnb and a future home, they began their property hunt in 2023.
