Theo reports from Durrës, Albania, where he and Ellen wrapped up a 29‑night stay for just over $2,000.
Their “Spending Tracker” app logged $684 for housing, $287 for groceries, $269 for restaurants, and even $62 for beer. A $390 chunk went to donations and tips, bringing optional spending into play.
Visiting during shoulder season helped slash rates, their beachfront Airbnb cost only $23.55 a night.
They cooked at home, used public transit, and traveled between cities for pocket change.
Now settled in Vlorë, Theo says Albania continues to deliver big views, beach vibes, and early‑retirement value.
My Take…
Albania is a cheap destination right now. Seeing lots of Brits heading that way, not sure if that is a good thing???
