Robert here, this is my take on packing for Thailand. Watching people pack for Thailand like it’s an Indiana Jones reboot. People lose their minds over what to bring. Relax. It’s not a moon mission, it’s a move.
First rule: pack light. You’re not hauling your entire IKEA existence across the Pacific. Essentials? Clothes that can handle heat and humidity. Think breathable, not boardroom. Toiletries? Bring your favorites if you’re brand loyal, but guess what, Thailand has stores. Actual real ones.
Shipping stuff? That’s where dreams go to die, slowly, with customs forms. Unless you’re emotionally attached to your sofa or vinyl collection, sell it. You’ll thank yourself when you’re not chasing a container ship across the ocean.
And the toss pile? Load it up. The mystery kitchen gadgets, 47 mugs, and that “someday I’ll use it” treadmill, bin them. Moving abroad is the ultimate clutter cleanse. You’ll land lighter, freer, probably even smugger.
Thailand’s got everything you need, plus better weather, food that ruins you for takeout forever, and beaches that make your screensaver blush. So yeah. Pack smart, ditch the extras, and call it an upgrade.
