Retirees Choosing Africa as a Travel Destination

Retiring abroad news from Retirement Utopia

Africa is gaining popularity among retirees as an ideal travel destination, with a significant increase in the application of South African visas from 2020 to 2022.
Countries like Kenya and Morocco are also being preferred for their affordability and rich culture.

From serene landscapes and diverse wildlife, to cultural heritage and economic opportunities, the African continent offers numerous alternatives for a comfortable retirement.

Notably ideal places include Libreville, Gabon; Marrakech, Morocco; Lamu Island, Kenya; Kumasi, Ghana, and Johannesburg, South Africa. Each location provides unique offerings for retirees, making Africa an exciting consideration for future retirement plans.

My Take…

I’ll be honest, Africa has never been on my retirement radar, but after reading this article, maybe it’s time to add a couple of African destinations to my “Retirement Utopia” list.

I spent time in Windhoek, Namibia a few years back and now I think back about my time there, it might be worth a re-look. I have also heard good things about Rwanda.
