Four Australian cities, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne, rank among the top 10 most expensive places to retire globally according to a study by Shepherds Friendly.
The study analysed the property price metrics, cost of living, life expectancy and how many bus routes are in 46 of the world’s happiest cities.
Zurich in Switzerland topped the list while Reykjavik in Iceland came in second.
Despite the high costs, Australia is considered one of the world’s happiest countries and retirees can still enjoy their retirement years through cost effective leisure activities in these cities.

My Take…
I lived in Sydney for 6 years and visited the other cities a number of times, so I know Australia pretty well. It is a great place to retire and offers very good lifestyle, providing you can afford it of course.
