Americans Seek Affordable Retirement Abroad

Alex writes about a growing trend among Americans seeking retirement abroad, citing new data from the 2025 Natixis Global Retirement Index.

Norway, Ireland, and Switzerland are named the top destinations for retirement security, thanks to strong healthcare and high living standards.

Alex notes that Greece and Portugal continue to attract retirees for their affordability, climate, and residency programs. Meanwhile, countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and Colombia provide low-cost options under $1,200 per month.

Alex sums it up simply: as savings shrink and costs rise, a comfortable retirement may now mean one with a passport.

My Take…

Me an Alex are on a different wave length. I don’t see any Americans retiring to Norway or Switzerland. I think the last one to Switzerland was “Tina Turner” 🙂
