Colombia: US SSA Recipients Need to Respond

Retirement Utopia News Archive

The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) has issued an important notice for those living in Colombia who receive Social Security benefits. This is specifically for people whose social security numbers end in 50 to 99.

The SSA advises to respond by mid-December 2023 to the Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire (FEQ) mailed earlier this year, or risk having benefits suspended.

If over 90 and benefits are paid through a representative, an FEQ is still necessary to submit.

My Take…

Nothing really to add, other than, Gringos in Colombia get on top of the paperwork and keep getting your SS cheese!
