Couple Trades U.S. Life For Peaceful Retirement In Thailand

Nicolia and Charles Connor swapped North Carolina for Thailand in July, chasing a peaceful, affordable retirement.

Prompted by personal loss and rising U.S. costs, they sold everything, including their home, and flew one-way with their dog, Tallulah.

Now renting a home near Hua Hin for $800/month, the couple is embracing a simpler lifestyle.

With Charles officially retired and Nicolia pursuing Thai language studies, they say they’re finally living, not just working to live. “It’s like the stress is gone,” Nicolia shared.

Their advice for other would-be expats? Be open, adaptable, and ready to leave the old mindset behind.

My Take…

Thailand is also very high up on my list. Expect a lot more on Thailand content coming to this website over the coming months.
