Ireland’s Timeless Allure For Returning Expats

Ireland’s Timeless Allure For Returning Expats

Reporting today, Kat Kalashian reflects on her expat beginnings in Waterford, Ireland.

She recalls arriving as a child in 1998, unaware of what it meant to live abroad. Years later, returning as an adult, she sees the island’s magnetic pull, its easy language transition, rich heritage, layered history, and unforgettable charm.

From creamy soups and hearty carveries to green hills and friendly locals, Ireland stands out as a place of warmth and beauty. Though living costs have risen, the lifestyle and landscape remain rewarding.

For those dreaming of Europe, Kalashian says, Ireland still calls with open arms.

My Take…

I spent a couple of weeks recently motorcycle touring in southern Ireland. Beautiful and wet are the two words that first come to mind.

I can see the attraction for Americans, less so for Brits or other Europeans.
