Italy to Enforce Biometric Data Collection For Schengen Visa

Italy To Enforce Biometric Data Collection For Long-Term Schengen Visa Applicants From 2025

Starting 11 January 2025, long-term Schengen visa applicants for Italy must visit their home country embassy for biometric collection including fingerprints.

This rule, already applicable to short-term visa applicants, is part of Italy’s increased security measures against criminal infiltration.

Despite providing additional security, this measure may prolong visa application times and increase travel expenses for applicants.

My Take…

No surprise here. Plenty of countries require biometrics for visa applications. Ask me about it! LOL
