Italy's Hidden Cities Emerging As Retirement Havens

Italy is quietly becoming a retirement haven, and not just in the usual spots. Cities like Lecce, Parma, Treviso, Lucca, Cosenza, and Trieste are gaining notice for their charm, culture, and affordability.

These under-the-radar gems offer everything from coastal beauty and Baroque architecture to world-class cuisine, all at a lower cost than hotspots like Florence or Rome.

Retirees are drawn to the slower pace of life, walkable streets, and excellent healthcare, making “la dolce vita” more accessible than ever.

Europe is not on my retirement destination radar, but I do love a short break to Rome.
One of the most beautiful cities in Europe, in my opinion.
