Reporting from the lush highlands of Panama, Adriana Valdez shares a glimpse of life in Boquete, a mountain town sitting 1,131 meters above sea level. Days linger around 68°F, evenings call for a sweater, and rain showers keep the landscape green.
Locals and expats mingle at the BCP Tuesday Market, where produce, coffee, and crafts fill the stalls. Cafes like Sugar & Spice and local favorites such as Ngädri keep everyone well-fed. Gardens thrive year-round, hiking trails beckon, and the pace stays blissfully slow.
Boquete remains a peaceful pocket of paradise, alive with community spirit and natural beauty.
My Take…
Panama is not on my personal list of potential retirement destinations, but Boquete sounds excellent and the right for many.
