Switzerland Named Most Expensive For Retirement

In a report from Sambla, Switzerland tops the chart as the most pricey country for retirees, requiring a £248,102 retirement fund for comfortable living.

Briefly behind it is Monaco, needing around £212,881. Qatar ranks third, though it boasts a lesser cost of living, requiring a retirement fund of over £211,000.

Singapore and Liechtenstein complete the top five, both necessitating over £200,000 retirement fund.

Trailing just outside these, Canada would need an approximated £178,000 for retirees to live comfortably.

My Take…

No surprise here!

Then again, you need to take into account local wages. If I was Swiss, I would absolutely look at location arbitrage as a way to fully enjoy every “Swiss Franc” of my retirement.
