Taiwan’s National Development Council has introduced its Digital Nomad Visa, a pilot program to attract digital nomad talent. The new visa could be extended pending the success of the trial.
A report by Global Citizen Solutions previously ranked Taiwan as the top Asian destination for digital nomads. The council looks to tap the growing global digital nomad community, projected to reach 40 million, by creating a favorable environment and providing funding and investment opportunities.
Visa holders can bring their families upon securing appropriate insurance.
My Take…
While not strictly retirement related, plenty of older folks that still like to keep busy use nomad type visas to initially get a feel for a country before they commit to retiring permanently in that country.
I myself went the same route in Colombia for a few years.
